Superheroes Don't Always Wear Capes, They Conquer Mountains

Blood, sweat and tears... okay, maybe minus the blood bit. Communicate Better's IT Director gave his all and (thankfully) survived the Etape Caledonia Bike Ride 2018.

On Sunday 26th May, our very own adventurer Mike Standring rode through the hills and forest-lined roads on offer at Loch Rannoch, Scotland.

As part of a 12-man army, Mike raised over £20,000 for a number of charities including Marie Curie - an organisation that supports people living with a terminal illness.

Mike completed the challenge with an impressive finish time of 6 hours and 11 mins - an average of 14.5mph.

Speaking after the event, Mike laughed: "There's definitely a sigh of relief now it's over, but I'm thrilled more than anything else!"

He continued: "It was definitely a challenge - both physically and mentally - and I'm delighted to have passed the finish line, all in aid of a charity that is very close to my heart."
